Premier league team of the week

The Premier League was back in town this weekend as clubs from around the country fought hard for 3 points that were on offer. With the domestic league carrying some momentum, every point becomes that much more important and it will be essential for the clubs to stay at their best to compete for a place at the top of the table.

The 12th round of fixtures saw a number of star individual performers who helped their side to a positive result at the weekend.
With all 10 games done and dusted, here is the Barclays Premier League team of the week for Game Week 12:
Formation:
Jordan Pickford (Sunderland):
Helping Sunderland to their first victory this season, Pickford, put in a brace performance, keeping Hull away from danger, releasing the pressure on his defence to give his side all three points.
Seamus Coleman (Everton):
The veteran right back for the Merseyside outfit was a live wire in the whole game against Swansea and came up with a late equaliser to give his side a point, making it into this team.

Virgil van Djik (Southampton):
Soon turning into the best defender in the league, the Dutch international, was in fine form this weekend as he helped his side to a clean sheet against the top scorers in the league in Liverpool.
Nathan Ake (AFC Bournemouth):
Starting the game at the centre of the defence against Stoke, Ake, was superb at the back for the Cherries, keeping Stoke away from danger, before popping up at the other end to score the only goal in their victory on the night.
Patrick van Aanholt (Sunderland):
The second Sunderland man to make the team, Van Aanholt, was superb on the flank for his side, keeping Hull away from the goal, making a couple of goal line clearances to keep his side in the game.
Yaya Toure (Manchester City):
The forgotten midfielder got a chance to impress the manager against Crystal Palace at the weekend and impress he did in style. He picked up a brace, including a winner to give his side all three points in a man of the match performance.
Ander Herrera (Manchester United):
The Manchester United midfielder has been in decent form recently and he was at his best against Arsenal at the weekend, giving them no space or time on the ball, to walk into this side.
Roberto Pereyra (Watford):
With dangerous and direct attacking play, the 25-year old was one of the most influential players for the Hornets this weekend, in their victory over Leicester City.
Victor Anichebe (Sunderland):
The Sunderland attacker played alongside Defoe as an outright striker and excelled in the position helping his side thump Hull City on the night.
Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur):
The English striker was rather sedate in the game against West Ham but he sprung to life late in the game, picking up a brace, to give Tottenham Hotspur an unlikely victory at the weekend.
Diego Costa (Chelsea):
The Chelsea striker was knocking on the door all night against Middlesbrough and finally got his goal late in the game, with an instinctive striker, to lift his side to the top of the Premier League table.
This is how they would line-up:
