Chelsea and Man United eye AS Roma star

According to the Metro, Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United have handed massive transfer blow, as their hopes of signing AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger have been dashed, as the Germany international confirmed he was happy to stay with the Serie A club.

The 23-year-old centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League after a stunning debut campaign with Roma last term.

The former Stuttgart man, capped 11 times for Germany national team, spent a season on loan in the Italian capital before making his move permanent last season in a £12m deal.
Both Man United and Chelsea have shown interest in German defender but Rudiger insists he’s happy to stay with the Serie A giants.
During his interview, Rudiger spoke about his future at Italian club: ‘There’s a lot of talk about changes in the squad, but I’m really happy to play for Roma. I’m not bothered about transfer rumours.
‘In the end, I’m happy to be healthy again. It wasn’t easy but now I can play again. I’m ready to play [on Thursday]. I hope for the best, but it’s the coach’s decision in the end.’
