Woman saved her self from rapist
A brave woman bit a sex attacker's finger and poked him in the eye - even after the pervert had broken her leg.
Brendan Corner has been jailed for eight years over the attack in which he followed his victim on a BMX bike as she walked home from Liverpool city centre after a night out.
Corner covered the woman’s mouth and shouted “don’t scream”, The Liverpool Echoreports.
Liverpool Crown Court heard Corner fell on her with such force that he broke her leg, which she described as “completely mangled”.
She bit his hand and poked him in the eye, before Corner fled with her bag, containing her mobile phone, passport and cash.
The brave victim dragged herself along the ground to the end of the road, where she flagged down a passer-by.
The woman had gone out with friends on Saturday, August 27 this year, but stopped drinking around midnight because she had a busy Sunday planned.
David McLachlan, prosecuting, said she went to see her boyfriend and then set off at around 3.15am.
The woman, who was wearing headphones, sent text messages to her partner and a friend, saying she was nearly home.
Cars pulled up alongside her with the drivers “beeping their horns” but she ignored them and kept walking.
However, she did not notice Corner, who was seen on CCTV cycling past her, before heading down a side street.
