United lining up a move for Victor Lindelof
According to the latest transfer news, Manchester United head coach Jose Mourinho is lining up a £26m move for Benfica’s Victor Lindelof.
Portuguese publication A Bola claims that the Red Devils manager is pondering a bid for the 22-year-old Sweden international once the window opens in January.
However, the Special One is not alone in keeping an eye on the highly-regarded young defender
It is believed that number of European top clubs including Juventus, Chelsea, PSG and Napoli are also interested. If Man United’s Portuguese manager decides to go for it he knows exactly how much Lindelof will cost.
The reports from A Bola also claim that the versatile defender has a £26m release clause. The talented Swede can play at centre-back or right-back and would be useful cover if Italian defender Matteo Darmian leaves Manchester United.
The 26-year-old Darmian is attracting interest from Serie A clubs and was firmly behind the pecking order of Antonio Valencia at Old Trafford before the latter’s injury.
Jose Mourinho is going through something of a defensive crisis at the moment with, Chris Smalling Antonio Valencia and Eric Bailly all sidelined.
