Spurs manager :Jose is still special

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho will always be the Special One to him and is one of the best coaches around.

Pochettino and Mourinho are set to clash this weekend with their respective side meeting in the Premier League.

The two managers first met when working in Spain with Pochettino coaching Espanyol while Mourinho worked with Real Madrid and the Argentinian has found himself compared to the Portuguese coach due to his drive for success

But the Spurs manager has insisted that it’s not right to compare him and Mourinho together and is adamant that the former Chelsea man is at the top of the pile when it comes to the current coaches in world football.

And Poch referenced the now infamous nickname that Mourinho assigned himself during his first stint at Chelsea, saying he will always be considered “the Special One” with him.

Pochettino said, according to the Mirror: “For me he is one of the best managers and it’s normal; big club, big manager, great manager.

“You cannot compare Mourinho with me. Mourinho is on the top. I am behind. He is in a different moment in his career. I admire him a lot. For me he is the Special One and will always will be the Special One.

“Maybe I hope one day to win the same titles as him. Maybe I will start to criticise the players in that moment.
