Man stabbed to death at remembrance of friend who was also stabbed in less than 24 hours
A 38-year-old man, named locally as junior fuller, was stabbed to death at a party to celebrate the life of his friend who was also stabbed to death 24 hours later.
Fuller was found wity stab wound to his chest in mill view close, sneinton Notes, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The attack came after Martin Maughan was found with stab wound in West Walk at just 6am on Saturday.
Both victims died from their injuries.
Residents said he chased the thieves but was knifed three times and died of his injuries at 4:20am today.
Writing on facebook Martin's mother said "Today I had a call on my fone that broke my heart in two, asking me did I hear that my son fell to his knees.
"I begged god not to take my Martin away but he didn't listen now he's gone where the angels are in that kingdom in the sky.
" please lord watch over my boy put your arms over my Mart hold him as tight as you can, she continued.
" I know hes looking down on us from that kingdom in the sky.
" My rock my life my boy i'II never forget the laughs we shared I know your with me now more than ever before I live you son I miss your voice too.
" No I'm not going to answer to your call asking how are you ma.
Chief inspector Mark Stanley of Notts police, said : " The murders are not believe to be linked so we are treating them as different cases
" In connection to the murder a 19-year-old and 43-year-old men have been arrested on the suspicious of murder.
